Fiber Mountain at eMerge, CyxteraCon Pavilion
The Glass Core Company Showcases Sensus and previews BIGOPX and XCage for colocation and data centers

eMerge, Miami, FL – April 29, 2019 – Fiber Mountain, Inc., the Glass Core Company and provider of transformative and managed fiber connectivity for hyperscale, enterprise and colocation data centers, is showcasing Sensus, the most innovative patch panel in the industry, and previewing the BIG OPX 800 and XCage software the most secure, high density, software managed layer 1 flexible media cross connect for the first time anywhere.

Sensus technology illuminates the previously unmanaged physical layer by gathering real-time information via the use of sensors in cables and connectors, thus putting the physical layer infrastructure of a company on the road to digital transformation. Sensors and the use of central software put information about the network at the fingertips of network operators, providing real time network knowledge, unparalleled security, predictable growth management, and enhanced uptime.

Both Sensus and BIG OPX 800 are managed through AllPath Director (APD) central software orchestration system that can dynamically discover every Sensus panel, every port of the BIG OPX 800 and every cable, creating a network topology drawing of the physical layer of a network. Applications that come with the system, out of the box, include automatic network discovery, automatic documentation of every element of the physical layer, intrusion detection for a high level of security, software assisted technician guidance, event logs for all MAC (moves, adds & changes) including audit trails.

The BIG OPX 800 preview shares publicly for the first time, Fiber Mountain’s next generation Optical Path Exchange (OPX), which increases density and provides any port to any port dynamic layer 1 cross connect and switching. Ideally suited for cross connect applications in co-location data center environments, high density media conversion, lab automation and being software managed, can be remotely managed and configured dynamically.

“We are thrilled to be at eMerge for our second consecutive year”, says M. H. Raza, CEO of Fiber Mountain, Inc. “The diverse nature of eMerge’s audience proved inquisitive and knowledgeable in 2018 and we expect the similar results in 2019. Our showcase of the Sensus and BIGOPX are game-changing solutions for emerging data center solutions.”

Fiber Mountain’s Glass Core is a software defined physical infrastructure that includes AllPath Director (APD) Software, Sensus Patch Panels, Sensus Cables, and Optical Path Exchange (OPX) layer 1 switches. These devices enable network operators to build any type of network at any scale, with the ease of software managed control in a growing or changing network landscape.

Sensus is currently in various stages of deployment at hyperscale, government and enterprise networks. The primary benefits include the ability to centrally track every physical connection and utilize ICID capability to ensure 100% accurate real time automatic network documentation via AllPath Director.

Fiber Mountain’s Sensus showcase and the BIG OPX 800 preview can be seen at eMerge 2019 in the Cyxtera Pavilion booth #914.

Boby Joseph, Fiber Mountain CTO is participating in a panel with Cyxtera Tuesday, April 30 on the Main Stage 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm entitled, “The ABC’s of Emerging Data Centers, Services, Security and the Edge”.

Asang Cooc, Fiber Mountain Sr. Member Technical Staff, is presenting a session on “Layer 1 Automation” on the Texpert Stage from 2:20 pm – 2:50 pm.
